Hello. My name is Clare Hasted and I am a qualified British Wheel of Yoga Teacher. I am also qualified and teach Pregnancy Yoga, Mum and Baby Yoga and Massage, Children's Yoga and Hypno Yoga for Birth. I run Birth Partner Workshops, Family Home Birth Workshops. I teach group and private classes. I am also trained in Rebozo techniques and in Closing the Bones Ceremony. I have a keen interest in Ayurveda. I am also studying Sports Massage and Japanese facial massage. I was a Secondary School (Drama) Teacher and Head of Department for 14 years, I have continued my work with children and yoga through teaching yoga in schools (secondary, primary and pre-school) and by running mindful yoga holiday clubs. I believe that yoga can be a part of your life from before birth right up to your last breath and beyond and is for everyone.
I first started practising yoga as a teenager, I left for a few years but came back to it in my 20s when a doctor recommended I practise due to a sore back. It was then when I truly fell in love with yoga. It has been a powerful anchor for me through many life events and has helped me be adaptable and stable and also find strength and flexibility both mentally and physically!
I am passionate about the transformative and empowering effects yoga can have and love sharing this through my teaching. I like to laugh and meet people and it is my aim to make my classes accessible to everyone and share the love x Clare x

Pregnancy Yoga is a holistic class using a combination of techniques which are designed to enhance each other in a positive, relaxed, empowering way. Pregnancy Yoga is a place were women can support each other and acknowledge their inner power whilst celebrating the presence of their unborn child.
From practising you can benefit from higher energy levels, improved immunity, more restful sleep, better digestion, greater range of movement, stronger body, better posture. As the baby grows it can also help to make space and help with optimum birth position.
Breath awareness, movement, deep relaxation, visualisations, mantra and meditations equip you with the tools to respond to physical and emotional changes and minor aliments. It can promote a sense of contentment and help with anxiety and stress. The techniques can also help you to begin to form a bond with your baby. Yoga can be used to relieve pain in labour and childbirth. It can also help with recovery of muscle tone and better gynaecological health after birth.
I am a fully qualified Pregnancy Yoga Teacher. Please get in touch for more details.

Rebozo is a traditional Mexican shawl/scarf that women use for all sorts of purposes, to keep warm, to carry loads, to be supported with during pregnancy and birth, and to carry their babies and finally as her shroud. The use of shawls/scarfs is universal however has been largely lost over a few generations. Rebozo can be taught to birth partners quite easily. In pregnancy is used first and foremost for relaxation, it can also be used to support hips, it can be used during labour to help get baby into optimal position for labour and offer support and relaxation. Rebozo is covered in Pregnancy Yoga and Birth Partner Workshops or by Private Consultations. Please get in touch for more information.
CLOSING THE BONES CEREMONY
I am also a practitioner of ‘Closing the Bones’, this is a traditional ritual and massage from Ecuador but has similar practises all over the world. In traditional cultures the first 41 days of motherhood are seen as scared time. This is a beautiful practise to celebrate a new mother, a woman. There are physical and spiritual aspects of this massage. Helping hips to close back and stopping energy leaks. It can stimulate blood flow which in turn; cleans, renews, moves fluids (may help with milk supply/lochia) moving hormones, immune system, toning muscles and tissue. Unresolved emotions and trauma can be held in the hips so massage can help release these and heal. Using Rebozo techniques (a traditional scarf) and various massage techniques using oil around the pubic bones, belly and hips. It can be performed right after birth or many years later. If you would like more information please ask.
HYPNO YOGA FOR BIRTH
Hypno Yoga can help to empower, sooth, restore and relax with positive outcomes on mood states and quality of life during pregnancy, labour and birth outcomes. Hypnosis for childbirth can help with unpleasant physical symptoms and lower stress, anxiety and depression. It can enhance pain relief, lead to fewer labour interventions, less need for medication, help with more spontaneous labours and lower use of analgesia or epidural anaesthesia.

I can't recommend Clare's pregnancy yoga classes enough. I found the classes a great way to relax, exercise and meet other mums to be and I really looked forward to going every week. I started at about 20 weeks only intending to complete one 6 week course, but enjoyed it so much I continued going right until the end of my pregnancy. I ended up having a c-section, but was still able to use the techniques Clare taught me to focus and overcome my fears for a relaxed, positive birth experience. I can't wait to move on to her mums and babies class!
After 3 courses of pregnancy yoga and a couples birth workshop I can not thank Clare enough! I feel so much more confident about my second birth after a traumatic first birth and it's all down to these classes, thank you. xxx
I attended the mum and baby yoga with Clare, I loved every part of it as it really does include mum and baby! It was our time together and through baby massage learnt things about my baby but also quite interactive as have met some lovely friends from this! I will definitely be attending yoga classes when I can leave baby and hopefully my eldest will be attending summer camp.

I highly recommend the pregnancy yoga classes with Clare! Before starting I was terrified about giving birth, but after just a few sessions I became excited for the labour, it completely changed my mindset.
I have also learnt so much and it's been a great way to prepare myself throughout the pregnancy. It has also given me plenty of ways to relax and use a whole load of breathing exercises which help me stay calm and build the bond between me and the baby.
Meeting other people has also been lovely. It gives us all a time and place to talk about pregnancy related topics, share experiences and make new friends. The support has been immense.
I honestly can't recommend this class enough, I'm so happy I joined early on in my pregnancy and I will be continuing to the very end (which is only a few weeks away!)
Thanks Clare for all the amazing classes, I wouldn't be where I am now if it wasn't for Love Yoga Wirral xx
